I gave the noaoar to reconnead for your favour-
able consideration the case of ar.Leung Tsau, Chinese Clerk and
Shroff in the Department of the Supreme Court, with a view to an
increase of dis salary.
2.
As ár.Leung's present salary is $60 a nouta
it was impossible to loclade nis aane in the list of the Colaese
officers who benefited by the revised scale of salaries sanctioned
in your despatcn 30.43 of the 13 ta. February, 1900.
.1 as of opinion,nowever, that dr.beung's case
is one deserving of special treat eat. de pas ceen 19 years in the
Governaeat service, and is an efficient clerk and trustwortoy saroff.
He nas nad no increase of salary for the past 16 years, and tos
Registrar of the Supreme Court strongly recommends that nis present
clains be recognised.
%.
I have therefore the bonour to recommend that
Ar.beung Tsau's salary, woico is at present $600 per annum, be 10-
creased to 4720, and that the increase be granted from the ist. of
January sext.
MIGHT HONOURAELE
JOSEPH CHAMBERLAIN,A.P.,
